The Ilwaco St. Vincent de Paul Food Pantry owes a big thank you to Cliff Hickman, Columbia Pacific Heritage Museum, Karla Nelson at Time Enough Books, and Debbie Heimbigner for donating their time and treasure to help raise funds to purchase much needed food. After our last food pantry opening, our cupboards were bare. By Tuesday, we had enough money to purchase more food for our next opening at the end of the month.

I wish to thank all of those who attended the meet and greet Thursday evening at the Ocean Park Library and for pledging your support for my re-election to the board of vommission of North Beach Water District. We had a lively discussion on a wide range of topics including; rates, water quality, customer service, and more importantly what a great asset our water system is to our community. Thank you for your continued support! I’m pleased to serve.

It’s the holiday season again! The Peninsula Rotary Foundation would like to thank all those who supported our annual Christmas Angels Golf Tournament. Funds raised go to purchasing gifts for Peninsula children so that all can have a present under the tree. Jim and Sondra Eaton and the Peninsula Golf Course staff provided great organization and a very tasty lunch for the 30 golfers who participated in the tournament. We also had 50 community businesses and individuals who sponsored a hole for the tournament. Keep your eyes open for the Christmas angel trees and bring back a gift so you, too can support this community effort. Thanks again for your generosity and spirit of giving.
