The Long Beach Lions in conjunction with the Ocean Park Lions provided the International Kite Festival with our annual beer garden. We, like the rest of the vendors, were grateful for six out seven very nice days. We wish to thank first and foremost the wonderful assistance we received from the city of Long Beach for its generosity and to the ever great Long Beach city crew for the time and hard work they put in to help us be a success. We also wish to thank Active Enterprises for its loan of equipment, and for the setup and take down process time they afforded us. We thank Doug Hubbard of Crown Distributing for providing us the supplies to be able to have a successful event. We are very grateful to the members of both clubs for long hours

and hard volunteer work that was provided by them,

making this one of our best beer gardens to date.

A move is difficult in the best of circumstances, but when the move involves a whole event, nearly a hundred volunteers and hundreds of attendees, the challenge is a great one. However, our volunteers stepped up to this challenge and Jazz & Oysters  was a success. We must thank the audience for following us to the new venue and being patient while we learned how to make the new location work. Dan Gove and the Beach Barons were more than gracious in helping us adapt to their property.

Thank you to our volunteers. Many of them come a distance to lend their time and talents to this event. We could not do it without them. For the fourth year, Taylor Shellfish and Angels for Orphans donated many bushels of their fresh, delicious oysters. Not only are the oysters tasty, the donation helps us make money to support the Water Music Festival concerts.

Besides volunteers, we would like to thank the businesses in this community who again donated goods and services. Many of the Peninsula’s fine restaurants and bakeries donated delicious desserts and grocery stores donated both goods and services,  Pacific County Fire District No. 1 supplied a rescue truck just in case it was needed and sent cadets to help with parking. This really is a community event.

We would also like to thank the residents of Oysterville for allowing us to hold this event in their village for all of these years. It was an honor to be there. The new venue has advantages that benefit both the customers and the volunteers, but we will miss the quaintness of Oysterville.

Jazz & Oysters is the major fundraiser for Water Music Festival. The proceeds from this event help support our events throughout the year. Thank you to every volunteer and business that helped with Jazz & Oysters. We could not do it without you and we are honored by your assistance.
