We endorse Dan Driscoll for District #2 Commissioner. It is important to have a district commissioner who represents the unincorporated, not just the incorporated part of a district. For too long those of us living or owning businesses in the unincorporated part of District #2 have gone without representation of our issues. For too long discussions and decisions are made at the county level without our input. We foot the bill but go unheard.
For too long residents have been left out. Dan Driscoll understands this gap and wants to change it. He understands there is common ground to be found between businesses, residents and county government. It goes without saying that in order to find that common ground, a district's commissioner should attend some chamber and community group meetings. This has not happened in the Ocean Park area for almost three years, despite invitations. Driscoll also understands the need for better transparency and communication between government and the governed and will work to make those changes happen. If you are tired of not being heard or even asked, we encourage you to vote for the change we need — vote for Dan Driscoll District #2 Commissioner!
