"Local food bank donation drive goes through the roof" is the headline I see. It has been a true spirit of Christmas to see so many of you sending in donations to this fund drive.

I cannot begin to express my thanks to everyone, except to say thank you. We will be gathering at the Chinook Observer on Dec. 27 to disperse all the funds received. More than likely a story will follow on this. Although it's after Christmas I was hoping for a tired Santa to be there, but we shall see.

In any case, I know there will be smiles and possibly a tear or two that day. I'm not letting the cat out of the bag for the dollar amounts yet — as there might be a few donations still in the mail that will be counted. If the Corder Foundation receives any late donations they will of course go the food banks.

May everyone have a Merry Christmas and a safe New Year. Let’s do this again next year, shall we.
