The Long Beach Elks is proud to have a program in place, Toys for Peninsula Kids, where low-income parents come to the Lodge and chose two gifts for each child in their household. They were then able to wrap them (or volunteers wrapped them) and sign the gifts from the parents or Santa.

Once again, the businesses and residents in our community opened their hearts and checkbooks to make this program a success.

Heartfelt thanks to Dennis Company for donating 50 toys, Peninsula Pharmacies for their toy donation, Chinook Observer for their donation and collection of toys, the VFW for their donation, and to Walmart for discounting and storing toys. A big thanks to Dick Edwards for picking up the toys and bring them to the lodge. The Elks purchased toys with funds from a grant from the Elks National Foundation. Thanks also to the many generous residents of the Peninsula for your donations.

Most importantly to each and every volunteer (more than 20), please know that the children who woke up to find two very nice toys on Christmas morning did so because of your time and effort. From the bottom of my heart, thank you.
