To All My Heroes — Thank you for all of your help and prayers, so I could get my radiation treatments done. Thank you,
We want to thank the many people who helped make our first Recovery Sunday on Sept. 10 a success. The date was chosen to coincide with World Suicide Prevention Day, and also to celebrate September as National Recovery Month. Giving out mums as Flowers of Hope and stress balls as a reminder to take it easy on ourselves, we met dozens of people at locations in Long Beach and Ocean Park.
Special thanks go to Connie Owen, Nikki Fortuna, Kat Erskine, John Larson, Deb Wells, John Rider, Barbara Bate, Douglas Levitt and Sigrine Vally for their efforts, and to all those who made donations or visited with us in support of our theme, Hope and Recovery for All.

Community Table would like to extend a huge thank you to the Peninsula Senior Activity Center for preparing and serving such a wonderful spaghetti dinner as a fundraiser for the most vulnerable in our community. We want to thank John and Kathy Vale and their kitchen crew for such a wonderful spaghetti sauce as we are still hearing from people that they could not believe how “gourmet” the sauce tasted and also how the servers were so kind and efficient at getting the food out while it was warm. We are so grateful to have partners like you who understand that our neighbors depend on these warm, nutritional meals every Monday. We make sure that every penny that Community Table receives goes directly to food and never to pay for administration expenses.
Blessings to you all,
Ron and Mary Hollis and the Board of Community Table
