Surfside Homeowners Association thanks every participant who supported our 6th Annual Chili Cook-Off on Saturday, Sept. 20.

The Oysterville Schoolhouse was a perfect venue; the weather was perfect, and the music provided by ‘Inversion’ and ‘One Lane Bridge’ was terrific.

We especially want to thank the Peninsula Clay Artists for again donating the soup bowls, the volunteers from the Community Relations Committee for the baked goods, and the local crafters who rented tables for their wares. Thanks to you, we raised a good sum to share between Ocean Park Food Bank and the Ocean Park Elementary Back Pack Program.

All 16 chili entries were memorable — thank you to everyone who tasted and voted!

And congratulations to the winners:

First Prize — William Budd (with ‘Wild Bill’s 5 Bean Organic Chili’)

Second Prize — Scott Marteeny

Third Prize — George Miller

This event was a great success, and we thank you all for your support.
