TACOMA, Wash. — The Ilwaco boys golf team – heavy favorites to win a fourth consecutive Washington Class 1A state title – is well on its way to another championship, following Tuesday’s first round action at Lake Spanaway Golf Course in Tacoma, Wash.

Ilwaco’s Ross Kukula currently leads the field, as he carded a one-under par 71 Tuesday (the only golfer under par) for a two-stroke lead on Ryan Wallen of Blaine.

Ilwaco teammate Clark Wilson is tied for fourth overall with a 75, followed by Anthony Yoder with an 80 (tied for 18th overall) and Kenneth Sheldon at 81 (five-way tie for 20th).

Half the field of 80 golfers made the cut for today’s final round.
