MOUNTLAKE TERRACE - Austin Burkhalter of Naselle ended his high school basketball career Saturday at the Washington Interscholastic Basketball Coaches Association All-Star game in Mountlake Terrace. He competed for the 2B squad that was defeated 82-76 by the 1B all-stars and scored five points.

Burkhalter said, "It was fun and an honor to play with the different players around the state. I enjoyed playing with Cody Olson from Cathlamet one last time. Jamie Meyer from Bear Creek was really good for our team and Cody Flett from Wellpinit could really shoot for them."

Burkhalter lists Lower Columbia College as a possible place he will compete in basketball next season, but the senior is undecided as to his future plans. He averaged 15 points per game during his senior season and averaged 15.5 in two all-star games.

Ilwaco faced several of the 1A all-stars during their last two seasons at the state tournament. Complete box scores are listed below.
