LACEY - The Naselle Comet girls' fastpitch team saw its league and overall record improve to 2-0 with a 15-10 rain-shortened five-inning win over the Northwest Christian Navigators Thursday, March 22 in Lacey. Jackie Anderson, pitching for much of the game, recorded the win after coming in to relieve starting pitcher Colette Beaulaurier. Orianne Condon pitched for the last five outs.
The Naselle girls were playing with only 11 players as two players were placed on suspension for violating team and school rules. Naselle Coach Chris Clark said, "As a result, some balls went for hits that might have been outs as we moved some players around to different positions. We got seven hits, but we also received 14 walks from their pitchers. Sunny Trent and Whitney Queral led our hitting as they each went two for two with a pair of singles.
