OAKVILLE - The Naselle Comets played the Oakville Acorns Thursday, May 1. The Comets got their first league win of the season in the opener. The second game, a non-league affair, was stopped by darkness with the score tied 9-9. It will go into the record book as a tie.

In the second game, the younger and least experienced players took to the field. Naselle coach Pete Donlon said, "everyone got a chance to play and get some at bats."

Leading hitters for the Comets included Gavin Maxwell, who was two-for-three with a double; Cody Engelson and Moras Borak, who each had a hit and scored twice; Randy Johnson, Dan White, and David Gradt each with a hit.
