Comets bested by Mules

NASELLE - The results of the first game to be played in the newly named Lyle Patterson Gymnasium were not what Naselle basketball fans or the Comets hoped for. However, losing to one of the top rated teams in the state "B" ranks, the Cathlamet Mules, was not unexpected. The domination of the Mules in their 81-43 win was somewhat surprising to the Naselle faithful.

The game was played Saturday, Jan. 8, following a ceremony when the Naselle gym officially was dedicated as the Lyle Patterson Gymnasium, in honor of the longtime Naselle coach and educator.
