NASELLE - Despite coming back to force extra innings in their game with Oakville last Monday, the Naselle Comets softball team came up one run short in the two teams' Pacific League opener, 13-12.

The Comets suffered their first league loss of the season. The Comets season record fell to 1-2 and 0-1 in league games.

"We had another disappointing game filled with errors, walks and strikeouts," said coach Chris Clark.

Marijane Mobley had 11 strikeouts but walks and passed balls hurt, as Oakville scored 5 runs on one single in the third inning.

"I hope that we learn to play as a team and make the correct plays in every situation," said Clark.
