CENTRALIA - Toutle Lake scored seven runs in both the third and fifth innings on their way to a convincing 18-0, season-ending victory over the Comets in the 2B district tournament second round in Centralia Tuesday. The game was shortened to five innings due to the mercy rule.

Naselle managed only four hits, a single by Leo Mendoza and a double by Alan Erickson in the second stanza and back-to-back singles by Mendoza and Erickson in the fourth frame. Duck pitcher Cody O'Connor struck out 13 in five innings and the lanky right-hander didn't walk a batter. Logan Scrabeck's grounder to the shortstop and pinch hitter Larry Johnson's roller to second to end the game were the only other fair balls struck other than Mendoza and Erickson's two safeties apiece.

Eight of the first 11 Toutle runs were unearned as the Comets committed five errors. Scrabeck, John Hines, Jesus Martinez, Austin Burkhalter, Nate Carlson, Johnson, and Erickson ended their careers as all are seniors.
