ILWACO, NASELLE - Yes. it's that time again. Time to strap on the pads and hit the field or court. Sports practices will begin this week for all fall high school teams.

First up is football, which will begin workouts this Wednesday, Aug. 15, at 3:15 p.m. for Naselle, and then at 5 p.m. for Ilwaco. Both teams have new coaches this season. Naselle will hold a meeting for parents at 6 p.m. at hat evening. Aug. 16 through 17, 20 though 21 Naselle will hold "daily double" practices from 3:30 p.m. to 5 p.m. and from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Ilwaco will hold daily double practices on Saturdays until school starts, at 8 a.m. and 5 p.m.

Volleyball and cross country teams will get their seasons underway on Monday, Aug. 20. The Lady Fishermen will practice daily at 4:30 p.m. at Aase gymnasium, while the Comets will hold practice at 5 p.m. in Patterson gymnasium. The Fishermen cross country team will meet at the high school track at 5 p.m. that day, while Naselle's team will gather at Pentilla field at 7 p.m. that night.

Ilwaco's boys golf team will be last to get started, holding their first practice on Monday, Aug. 27 at Surfside Golf Course.

Coaches encourage all interested athletes to attend the first practice if they want to play this fall season.
