Fight night a success

ILWACO - As the theme song from Rocky blared over the public address system, a crowd of approximately 200 fight fans sat in anticipation at the Ilwaco American Legion Hall Saturday for the first amateur boxing matches in the area in anyone's memory.

The opening bout between middleweights Jackie Faling from Kelso and West Side of Portland's Tyiesha West was disappointing only in its brevity, but not in it's fury as the two young ladies "got it on" as announcer Jonathan Woodward described.
