ILWACO - Toledo scored five touchdowns in the first quarter, going ahead 34-0 after one period and then cruised to a 54-0 Trico League win over the Fishermen at Peterson Field Friday. Toledo had 359 yards of total offense to 121 for Ilwaco, with 319 of those yards coming on the ground.

Josh Berteaux was the leading Fishermen rusher with 45 yards in 12 carries and Levi Pattison picked up 19 yards on four rushes. Austin Woodby completed a halfback pass for 30-yard pass to Justice Schenk. Kasey Plato caught two passes and Austin Wirkkala and Bobby Byrd one each from the hustling Berteaux at quarterback.

Toledo's Matt Deskins disrupted Ilwaco's first play of the game and ran the fumble recovery in for a 33 yard touchdown. Toledo then recovered the ensuing kickoff and again scored with less than two and a half minutes off the clock. After Toledo's seventh touchdown in the third period a running clock was used as the score was 47-0 and the WIAA allows for a running clock when one team has a 45 or more point lead.

Ilwaco is now 0-5 in the Trico and 1-6 overall, while the league-leading Indians are 5-0 and 6-1 for the year.
