COLUMBIA RIVER - The Columbia River spring salmon run won't make it to the epic prediction of 470,000 fish, officials concluded last week.

That said, the estimated run of 350,000 has made for some great fishing for both sport and commercial boats. And, the 221,000 adult salmon that had passed over Bonneville Dam by Sunday, May 16, represent one of the highest counts in several decades.
