CHEHALIS - The Fishermen will have quite a task on their hands tonight as they face off with the Winlock Cardinals, the sixth-ranked 1A team in the state, in a District IV semifinal game. The game, an 8 p.m. start time at Chehalis' WF West High School, will advance the winner to the dsitrict title game and assure them of a bid to the state tournament in Yakima.

Ilwaco made it to the game by way of a comeback win over Rainier, 59-52, Thursday night. Winlock blew out Rochester 60-26 in the first round. The Fishermen and Cardinals (19-2) did not play each other in the regular season this year.

A win puts Ilwaco in the District IV title game next Saturday, Feb. 23 at 8 p.m. at Kelso. A loss puts them in a 6:30 p.m., Thursday, Feb. 21 loser-out game at Centralia. A win in that game would advance Ilwaco to the District IV third-place game on Feb. 23 at 6:30 p.m. A win in that game would advance the Fishermen to the state tournament.
