MONTESANO - Only four Lady Fishermen golfers competed at Montesano Thursday and senior Jessica Ziemer was Ilwaco's leader with a 54. Sophomores Amanda Schisler fired a sterling round of 56, Marina Sonntag shot a 68 and junior Brooke Weir finished with a 71.

The Lady Fishermen lost to the veteran Lady Bulldogs 203-249 after tallying the top four scratch scores for both squads. Coach Bob Enos said, "We had some girls involved with Loyalty Day commitments and some illness. For the first time this year the sun was out and the greens were dry and much faster than we have experienced."

Enos said, "Ziemer struggled after the fourth hole on the greens, but her tee shots were solid and Schisler had troubles off the tee, but played very well around the greens. Sonntag and Weir continue to improve and with three matches scheduled for next week it should really help our entire team to get more consistency."

Montesano freshman Kaelyn Walker shot a 46 to earn medalist honors and Alyssa Hartman came in with a 48. Brooke Watkinson shot 54, Hailey Besaw 55, Natalie Marshall 57, and Kacie Lane 62 to round out the Lady Bulldogs scores for the day at Oaks Ridge Golf Course.
