SKAMOKAWA - The 26th annual Great White Tail Run will be held May 15 at 10 a.m. on the Julia Butler Hansen Wildlife Refuge in Skamokawa. Participants will run or walk an out and back course of a 10k, 5k or 2-mile.

Registration and packet pickup will begin at 8:30 a.m. on the day of the event at Skamokawa Vista Park, where parking will be available. Recognition is given for top overall male and female winners in the 10k, 5k and 2-mile, with ribbons for the top three finishers in each age division.

Day-of-run registration fees are $12 without a shirt and $25 with a shirt. A family or youth group discount is included with the first two entries of immediate family/group regular price; each additional entry is $3 off regular price. You may add $1 if you are bringing your dog and want to compete for awards in this division.

Official dog rules include: Socialized dogs only. Dogs should be at least 6 months old with current vaccinations. Dogs must be on a leash at all times and must stay on designated run course. Female dogs in season are not permitted. Event officials reserve the right to refuse entry to any dog whose health or behavior could be dangerous. Participants are asked that they clean up after their dogs.

This event is a fundraiser for the Wahkiakum County based 4-H program and all proceeds will be used to benefit the county program. For more information call 360-465-2275 or 360-795-3278.
