HIGHLINE - Ilwaco's Andy Hudkins poured in 20 points and snared six rebounds against the best 2A high school seniors in the Washington Interscholastic Basketball Coaches Association All-Star Game at Highline Community College gymnasium Saturday.

Hudkins said humbly, "I was surprised how many points I scored. I was second high scorer on our team-and I even hit two three-pointers."

Hudkins played for the "State" team who was defeated by the "City" team 113-108.

Nate Alonko of LaCenter scored 13 points and Hoquiam's Tim Grun hit the nets for nine. Hudkins, who also participated in the WIAA Football Coaches All-Star Game June 28, said "This was a great way to end my high school career." Hudkins played wide receiver and outside linebacker in the football all-star contest.

Hudkins is heading for Big Bend Community College in the fall and plans to play basketball while there.
