ILWACO - Mooch Smith earned second-team, all-league honors from the Trico League, and Nick Leonard was given honorable mention at the league meeting last Wednesday.

John Wright and Rocky Mirelez were named to the Lower Columbia Feeder Series game for local high school seniors.

Wright and Mirelez will play a double-header June 2, at 5 p.m., at Lower Columbia College's Story Field in Longview. Several of the top local all-stars will move on from that game to an all-state game June 12 in Eastmont. Players from classifications B to 4A will compete in those games.

Codie Jenkins and Nicole Adams will play in a similar softball doubleheader at Fort Borst Park in Centralia, June 4, at 5 p.m. Softball coach Rick Bishop nominated Jenkins, Adams and Ashley Kitzman to the 2A Trico League for all-star consideration, but the team has yet to be released.

Smith was voted the top offensive player for Ilwaco's team by a vote of the players. Leonard was the top defensive player, and Wright was voted most inspirational player by his peers. The Lady Fishermen have not completed their voting for similar honors.
