WOODLAND - Woodland walloped the Lady Fishermen softball team 17-0 in a four-inning Trico-League affair, and Bolen pitched a no-hit, no-run game against Ilwaco in Game 1 of a doubleheader there Thursday.

"We played the best game of the year in game two," coach Rick Bishop said as his charges took a 6-4 lead into the bottom of the fifth inning. The Lady Beavers plated 11 tallies the final two frames to win going away 15-9, however.

MaryMargaret Tomberlin was the hitting star for Ilwaco, going 3-5 including a long triple to right field. Nicole Adams also drilled three hits in five at bats, including a double to left. Stevie Lindsley powered two hits in four times to the plate and added a walked.

Codie Jenkins, Johanna Hazen, and Ashley Garrett also got base knocks for the Lady Fishermen. Adams pitched the first game, cutting her walk total in half from her previous mound start and Becky Graff and Garrett shared pitching duties in the night cap. The duo walked only three, but eight Ilwaco errors and eight hits were their undoing.

Codie Jenkins, back from a trip to Washington D.C., played well behind the plate. The Lady Fishermen are now 0-12 in League and 0-13 overall.
