ILWACO - Summer basketball came to a close last week for both the boys and girls teams from IHS. The Fishermen were 12-6 at one point this summer, according to coach Matt Blair, and had racked up some impressive wins over top-notch schools. No results were made available on how the Ilwaco boys did in the 20-team Blast at the Beach tournament here over the weekend.

The Lady Fishermen were very successful at team camp in Soap Lake and finished at around the .500 mark for the season. The football team will pack the gear to Camp Rilea next Monday through Thursday for the annual team camp that will feature a couple of dozen squads from Washington and Oregon.

The summer baseball team took the week of July 4 off, but ventured to Warrenton Monday for a double header and will finish their campaign Thursday at Long Beach when Tillamook comes to visit for a pair of games beginning at 4 p.m.
