ILWACO - The Fishermen boys took third and the girls fourth at a seven-team track meet they hosted Thursday at Peterson Field. Jordan Williams won the 200- and 400-meter races and John Hayes was a dual winner in the 1,600 and 3,200 distance events while Eddie Knick was a winner in the 100 dash for the Fishermen. The lone Lady Fishermen victor was Katie Freese in the 400.

Williams ran the 200 in 24.1 and the 400 in 54.5 while Hayes' time in the 1,600 was 4:47.9 and the 3,200 was 10:36. Knick won the 100 in 11.9 and Katie Freese the 400 in 65.7. Ilwaco boys scored 87 points and trailed a strong South Bend contingent that racked up 169. The girls from Ilwaco scored 80 points to trail South Bend's girls' team 109.

Shaun Peterson was third in the 3,200 in 11:05 and placed sixth in the 1,600 in 5:05.9. Knick was fourth in the 200 run in 24.8. Both the 4x400 and 4x100 relay Fishermen teams placed fourth as did Carl Jackson in the 1,600 (5:02) and Stephen Berglund in the 3,200 (11:19.3).

Nick Morrison was fourth in the javelin with a toss of 120-feet 6-inches and sixth in the 300 hurdles (53.1). Jeff Nesbitt was fifth in the discus with a twirl of 112' 1" and sixth in the javelin with a heave of 115' 11".

Placing second for the Lady Fishermen were Monica Millner in the triple jump (24' 3"), Bonnie Perez in the 100 (15.9) and 200 (28.7), Katie Freese in the 800 (2:43.3), and Kelly Freese in the 3,200 (12:53.5). Millner also finished fourth in the 300 hurdles in 68.1 and both Ilwaco relay teams were fourth in the 4x400 and 4x100.

The Ilwaco track teams are now off until April 13 when they will visit Naselle.
