ILWACO - Karl Oman and Chris Schommer each connected on a pair of "three's" and Ilwaco fashioned a 25-11 lead early in the second period as the Fishermen coasted to a 70-51 Trico League victory over LaCenter at Carl Aase Gymnasium Friday.

Ilwaco held the Wildcats to 33 points through the first three periods and "played very well defensively" according to Coach Kip Meinhardt. "We controlled the game, made eight three-point baskets, and Karl had another big night and Justin Short hit a couple of three's and played well and Kyle Breckinridge scored well inside and led us in rebounding."

The Fishermen are now 2-1 in league play and in second place behind Castle Rock and are 6-7 for the season, while the Wildcats drop to 1-2 in the Trico.
