PE ELL — Ilwaco lost its grasp of second-place in the Pacific League by dropping a double-header 10-0 and 11-5 against Pe Ell Tuesday, April 30.

Pe Ell came in at 11-3 in league play, Ilwaco at 10-2. After dropping the opener, Ilwaco still had a chance to move back into second place and led the Trojans 4-3 after four innings, but a seven-run fifth inning was decisive for the Trojans.

In the nightcap Reese Tynkila doubled, tripled and walked twice, and Trenton Cox was 2 for 2 with a triple.

In the opener, Pe Ell’s Hunter Hoke struck out nine batters in a five-inning shutout and was 3 for 4 at the dish. For Ilwaco, Nate Hopkins was 2 for 3, and Ghannon Whelden hit a pinch-hit double.
