ILWACO — Ilwaco survived a 27-point performance by Willapa Valley’s Brook Fries, beating the Lady Vikings 60-52 at home on Monday, Jan. 28. Kylie Gray scored 15 of Ilwaco’s 24 second-half points to help hold off Valley.

Ebby McMullen scored 11 first-quarter points as Ilwaco took a 17-16 lead. Erika Glenn added 10 in the second quarter, helping Ilwaco stretch it to 36-28 at halftime. McMullen and Gray finished with 17 points apiece, while Glenn chipped in 14.

Monday’s win clinched the Pacific League title for Ilwaco, because second-place Ocosta fell to 15-2 with a loss to South Bend the same day.
