CLATSKANIE — Ghannon Whelden, Keegan Kemmer and Michael Rodda all brought home first-place trophies from the Clatskanie Winter Classic Saturday, Dec. 29.

Whelden won the 132-pound weight class, Kemmer won at 138 and Rodda, in the 285-pound class, picked up his first career tournament win. Aidyn Cohen-Tjaden took second place at 195 pounds.

Brandon Duke made his season debut after an arduous recovery from an injury in the football season opener. He won a third-place trophy in the 152-pound class. Joining him in third place were Dylan Simonson (145) and Chris Wood (170).

Serena Kuhn led Ilwaco’s girls with a 2-0 record in Clatskanie.
