RAYMOND — Madeline Silvernail blasted a home run and two doubles in Raymond’s 23-4 win in the front end of a double-header Wednesday, April 24. The Seagulls went on to take the second game 17-7.

Silvernail led off the second with a blast over the center field fence to tie the game at one. She came up later the same inning with the bases loaded and blasted a two-run double just short of the fence in center, making it 7-1. With two outs, Olivia Stigar added a homer over the short left-field fence to make it 12-1. Two batters later, catcher Lindsy Agee finally got Ilwaco out of the inning, throwing out Tegen Fleury trying to steal second base. Silvernail added a third extra base hit, a third-inning double. All three were hit to about the same spot in dead center.

Jaymie Patana doubled in a run for Ilwaco in the first inning and finished 2 for 3. Asu Herrera-Sanchez led off the second with a double and scored. Agee lined two singles up the middle to go 2 for 3 with a run scored.

Ilwaco kept it closer in the second game but still lost by 10 runs.

Raymond broke a third-place tie with Ilwaco, improving to 7-3 in league play while Ilwaco fell to fourth-place at 5-5.
