ILWACO - Anna Kitzman scored 12 points against a relentless Kalama platoon of defenders Tuesday and her seventh point, a free throw in the third period, was her 1,000 point of the five-foot, seven-inch senior guard's career at Ilwaco High School. Anna had 75 points her freshman year, 247 as a sophomore, 377 as a junior, and now has 306 her senior season, with one more league game and at least two district games guaranteed.
Anna is very familiar with the last Lady Fishermen to eclipse the 1,000-point barrier. Her sister, Ashley, rolled in 1,729 points during her career that ended in 2005. Ashley scored 162 her freshman year, then 478, 483, and 606 her next three high school seasons.
