Palmer Guhlke of Davenport and Dawson Strobel of Tekoa-Rosalia both shot 74.

Ethan Bannister also made the cut in 17th place with an 86, but Colfax looked likely to win the team competition, as it had the third, tenth and twelfth place golfers after the first day of the two-day tournament.

Ilwaco’s Aslyn Fisher was 28th in the 1B/2B/1A girls State tournament after one day, shooting a 98.

Zac Tapio and Madison Chabot both missed the cut after the first day.
