ILWACO - Ridgefield swept three games over the Lady Fishermen in the final Trico League match of the volleyball season at Ilwaco Oct. 28. The Lady Spudders won 25-10, 25-13, and 25-7.

The Lady Fishermen started their six seniors on Senior Night and in the early going of the first game the combination was working. Sydney Ward rifled three service aces and Alexa Wirkkala smacked down a kill to put Ilwaco up 5-3. Kenzi Wirkkala, Ashley Cass, McKenzie Stockfleth, and Justina Cornell rounded out the senior starting lineup.

Later in the first game the Lady Spudders went on an 11-0 run, they scored nine straight points in game two, and broke open a 10-7 game by scoring the final 15 points of the match in the finale.

"We gave it a good run this season. Of course you always would like the results to be better, but the girls gave a good effort and never game up," Coach Green concluded. Ilwaco finishes 2-12 in league play and 2-13 overall, while Ridgefield ends their regular season with a 12-2 mark in the Trico and second place. Ridgefield swept the junior varsity match 3-0 as well.
