OCEAN PARK - The Cardinals of Ocean Park took second place in the Cal Ripken Baseball Minor League Tournament held in Lewis and Clark, Ore.

After a slow start this season with three losses in a row, the Cardinals practiced every day and proved themselves to be excellent basebal1 players on tournament day.

Tournament wins include a comeback run in the last inning and a two-inning overtime win to send them to the championship game.

"I would just like to say thank you to the kids for trying their best this season, and for showing excellent dedication and sportsmanship all season. I am very proud to have coached the Cardinals," said Coach Taylor. The Cardinals finished the season with a overall record of eight wins and four losses.
