Montesano’s junior varsity team beat Naselle 3-2 on March 28.

Jacob Scrabek’s first-inning groundout drove in Donny Edwards to give Naselle a 1-0 lead, but the Bulldogs answered with two in the bottom of the inning. The Comets got three runners on base in the third, but Ethan Lindstrom was thrown out at home and Cole Dorman was also out on the bases. A pair of doubles in the bottom of the third gave Montesano a 3-1 lead. Walks and errors gave Naselle a run in the fourth.

Naselle’s pitching was again solid. Edwards got the start and pitched the first four innings. Dorman pitched the final two and retired all six batters he faced on only 19 pitches.

“His change-up was outstanding,” said coach Ethan Lindstrom.
