MONTESANO - The Naselle Comets had no problem getting their first playoff win of the year Saturday night as they easily got by Mossyrock, 61-42 in the second round of the District IV boys 2B tournament at Montesano. The win sets up the Comets for game Thursday, Feb. 21 at 7 p.m. at Chehalis' WF West High School against Pacific League rival NW Christian. Naselle defeated NWC in their final regular season game 60-46 on Feb. 9. A win in that game will advance the Comets to the championship game on Saturday, Feb. 23 at WF West and assure them of a spot in the state tournament.

Since Dec. 29, the Comets have won 13 of their last 14 games - their last lost came on Jan. 28 in a non-league make-up game with Seaside, Ore.

For more info from Saturday night's game see this week's Chinook Observer, in news racks Tuesday night.
