NASELLE - The Comets baseball and softball teams were washed out last week, but they will make up three Pacific 2B League games apiece this week. Naselle traveled to Quinault April 26 for a 4 p.m. game there, then hosted Ocosta April 27 and meets Northwest Christian Thursday in key league encounters.

The baseball team, should they finish in the top three league positions, will open District IV play May 11 at times and sites to be determined by where they finish. If the softball team qualifies they will open district competition May 19 in Centralia. Each team must finish in the top three of four Pacific 2B League teams, but games with 1B opponents also count in the final standings.

The Comets baseball team, with a 5-2 league mark, needs one more victory to clinch a district invitation, while the girls' softball team will probably have to win all three of their remaining league games as they are 2-5 on the year in the Pacific.
