NASELLE - The Naselle eighth grade volleyball team beat South Bend, Ilwaco, Ocosta, North Beach, Valley and Raymond at a jamboree and finished their season with a 6-3 record in match play. Jordan Smith, Danielle Larson, Makenzie Mathews, Ciara Sandell, Jessica Keeley, Victoria Corona, Shea Trost, and Kirsten Scrabeck made up the team.

Corona, Larson and Trost served well and the team played well together in wins over North Beach and Valley to begin the season. Against Ilwaco Smith was the top server and Sandell and Scrabeck blocked and hit well and Larson led a great team effort in defeating North Beach a second time.

Naselle suffered their first defeat of the season at home against Raymond and at Valley Sandell, Scrabeck and Trost each had kills, but the team still lost. They bounced back to knock off Ocosta. Coach Jenny Blake said, "The girls came ready to play as they wanted to end the season on a winning note." Trost served the first 11 points of the game and Sandell, Trost, Scrabeck and Matthews each contributed several kills in the victory.

Blake said, "I enjoyed coaching this very talented group. I want to give a big thank you to the girls and their parents for a memorable and fun season."
