NASELLE - The Naselle Comets continued their perfect league season with a 3-0 win over the Lake Quinault Elk in a make-up match played in Naselle Monday. Oct. 27. The Comets win came on game scores of 25-13, 25-16 and 25-14 to improve their Pacific league record to 6-0 and 10-2 overall.
The Comets dominated the nets in their make-up match with the Elk.
Coach Debbie Denny said, "Annie Herrold had several kills and Kelli Revis was able to block most anything they tried to hit over the net. The Elk are a short team and we blocked very well against them. Katie Klinger had a good setting night in setting up our hitters.
"It was a nice opportunity to play the bench - Jamie Hines played some good back row and served well; in the third game, two freshmen setters, Jamie Bighill and Jenny Klinger, each did a good job."
The match scores were indicative of how the match went with the Comets not allowing the Elk to get very close to them in the scoring department. The win sent the Comets to Oakville, which has yet to win a league match, for their final tune-up of the year before their closing league match with South Bend.
