CATHLAMET — Naselle broke a 6-6 tie with a seven-run seventh inning for a 13-6 victory over Wahkiakum, a middle-of-the-pack team in the 2B Central League.

James Anderson shut out the Comets over three one-hit innings for the Mules, who led 1-0 after three. But Ethan Lindstrom and Cole Dorman started the fourth with back-to-back singles off reliever Damion Curl. That started a five-run inning in which four of the runs were walked in. Wahkiakum responded with four unearned runs off Dorman in the bottom of the inning with the help of two outfield errors.

With the game tied at six, eight and nine hitters Daniel Holt and Josh Townsen led off the seventh with back-to-back singles. Warren Wirkkala walked to load the bases, and Lindstrom’s one-out two-RBI single broke the tie. Two errors helped the Comets bat around in the inning, and Holt drove in two with his second single of the inning to make it 13-6.

Dorman and Townsen were the pitchers for Naselle.
