WINLOCK — Joe Strange smashed two doubles and went 3 for 4 and Clay Bergeson pitched a five-inning complete game in Naselle’s 14-3 victory over Winlock Tuesday, April 30.

Bergeson, who had pitched an inning the previous day, kept the rest of Naselle’s pitching staff rested on the second in a stretch of three games in three days, walking just one batter and throwing 94 pitches.

Strange struck out looking in the first but returned to the plate later in the inning and hit a bases-clearing double, pushing the lead to 8-0. He finished the game with two runs scored and four RBIs.

Kolten Lindstrom stole home on a double-steal in the second inning, making it 9-1.

Jakobe Johnson went 2 for 3 off the bench in his second career game after pinch hitting in the third. Besides Strange, he was the only Comet with a multi-hit game Tuesday.
