WESTPORT — Ocosta beat Naselle 2-1 Friday, April 12 despite being outhit 6-2 by the Comets.

Naselle starting pitcher Cole Dorman walked the bases loaded with no outs in the first but came back to strike out Jayden Matthews and Cesar Martinez, then got Harley Figueroa to tap to the mound to end the inning unscathed. Dorman walked two more to start the second, the first of which came around to score on a sacrifice fly for a 1-0 lead.

The Wildcats’ bunched together their only two hits. With two out in the fifth, Matthews singled, and Martinez tripled him in to make it 2-0.

Ocosta starter Cole Hatton scattered five singles in five shutout innings. Naselle’s only run came with two out in the seventh, when Josh Townsen scored on a wild pitch.

Daniel Holt went 2 for 3 for Naselle.
