NASELLE — Naselle’s high-powered offense opened in a slump Thursday, Jan. 31, as Three Rivers Christian took a 16-5 lead in pursuit of a shocking upset. But Kolby Glenn made seven three-pointers to lead the Comets to the 80-57 home win.

Jacob Eaton snagged 20 rebounds for the Comets, who had crushed Three Rivers 78-41 on the road in their previous meeting. The Eagles finished 4-4 in Columbia Valley League play, 10-10 overall. The Comets finished the 8-0 in the Columbia Valley League and 15-5 overall, placing them tenth in RPI out of 64 1B teams. Naselle has byes for the first two rounds of districts.

They will play in Ilwaco against either Mary M. Knight, Three Rivers or Oakville in semifinals Saturday, Feb. 9 at 4:30 p.m. The winner earns a trip to district finals and a guaranteed slot at regionals.
