NASELLE — Peyton Dalton snatched seven steals, while Taylor Gudmundsen and Jackie Steenerson each swiped another six in the Lady Comets’ 63-13 victory over Washington School for the Deaf Lady Terriers Thursday, Jan. 17. Lilli Zimmerman scored 14 points, while Steenerson added 13.

Defense fueled the Lady Comets’ offense. During one stretch, the Comets got six of their eight baskets off steals despite rarely running a press. By the end of that stretch Naselle led 36-3 with over 4:00 to go in the first half. They then went deep into their bench, bringing in young players including eighth-grader Grace Hunt, who scored on a fast break near the end of the half for a 38-7 lead.

Darian Jacot got going from mid-range late in the game. She hit four of five shots, all over the span of about five minutes, to finish with eight points.

Naselle will host Taholah Jan. 26 at 2 p.m.
