WARRENTON — The Lady Warriors of Warrenton beat Naselle 61-24 Tuesday, Dec. 4.

Warrenton was 6-0 at week’s end, with all but one win coming by over 20 points. As a 3A Oregon school, Warrenton is roughly the equivalent of 1A in Washington, which is two classifications up from 1B Naselle.

The Warriors broke open an 11-6 game with a 26-3 run, thriving with a full-court press and strong offensive rebounding. By halftime, they led 40-11.

Six-footer Fernanda Alverez thrived on offensive rebounds and in the pick-and-roll, leading Warrenton with 18 points in just 14 minutes. Lilli Zimmerman led Naselle with eight points.
