VANCOUVER — Naselle hammered the Washington School for the Deaf 72-12 in Vancouver Thursday, Dec. 13.

Naselle scored nine points in a 35-second span early in the game.

Jimmy Strange got fouled attempting a fast-break layup and hit both free throws.

Washington School for the Deaf threw away the subsequent inbound pass against a Comet press. Corey Gregory hit a three-pointer, leaped to steal an attempted outlet pass, and laid it in, giving him five quick points. Jacob Eaton followed with a steal near the basket and passed to Cole Dorman underneath for a score. That gave the Comets a 20-2 lead just 3:53 into the game.

Naselle took off its press and cruised the rest of the way, leading 30-2 after a quarter and 44-4 at halftime.

The Comets will host Toutle Lake on Saturday at 7 p.m.
