PASCO - Naselle boys finished 15th among class 1B/2B teams and the Comets were led by Nathan Reitz who claimed 27th place among 128 runners in Pasco Saturday morning in the state cross country meet. Reitz ran a time of 18:08 on what is described as a "difficult" course by those who compete on it year after year.

Coach Scott Smith said, "We had a super season. All of the guys ran hard, but they were a little nervous. We went out fast, maybe a little too fast and when we got to the hills on the course it cost us. Still, I am very proud of each of them as their hard work and dedication led to our best season yet in cross country."

Drew Macy finished 79th in 19:23, Alex Bennett came in 99th in 19:59, Ollie Baker was 101st in 20:11 and Conor Smith rounded out the Comets scorers with a 102nd place finish in 20:13. Cramer Smith was 103rd in 20:15 and Alex Bighill finished 128th in 25:05.

Naselle scored 329 points as Reitz was 21st among team runners, Macy was 63rd, Bennett 80th, Baker 82nd and Conor Smith 83rd. Northwest Christian ran away with both the boys' race (52 points) and the girls' race. Wahkiakum and North Beach tied for 11th place in the state with 276 points.
