Ilwaco’s cross-country team competed at the Nike Twilight Invitational at Cedarcrest Golf Course in Marysville Saturday, Sept. 29. Tristan Trudell led Ilwaco’s boys with a season-best 18:20, while Carli Kemmer and Alex Carper finished back-to-back for the girls at 23:19 and 23:20. Trudell finished 56th of 192 runners in the small school (1B-2A) race. Kemmer and Carper were 78th and 79th of 157 in their race.

Emma Brundage finished in 24:07, and Kaytlenn Whelden had a 27:01. Freshman Daniela Mendez, who did not run in middle school, debuted with a 28:48.

Colton McNabb got into the top 100 in the boys race with a 19:02, good for 99th place. Ghannon Whelden (19:49) John Glenn (20:26), Anderson Stoddard (20:29), Griffen Cutting (21:13) and Logan Simonson (21:19) also competed Saturday.
