Naselle setter Taylor Gudmundsen was named Columbia Valley League volleyball co-MVP for the second straight year after ranking eighth in the state with 592 assists. Gudmundsen averaged 8.1 assists per set played. Gudmundsen also led all of Washington by serving 105 aces, according to maxpreps.com. Gudmundsen shared the MVP award with Firm Foundation hitter Katie Kogler this year after sharing it with Three Rivers Christian’s Bailee Williams-Wallace last season.
Holly Disch, fourteenth in the state with 272 kills and 25th with a .253 hitting percentage, was named to the All-League team. Jackie Steenerson, Sophie Scrabeck and Kenzie Glenn joined her on All-League. Scrabeck served aces on 29.6 percent of her serves, nearly matching Gudmundsen’s percentage, to finish with 60 aces on the season. Her diagonal hits were a major weapon, helping her to 86 kills in her 57 sets played. Glenn was second on the team with 123 kills. Steenerson was the team’s leading blocker and was second with a .196 hitting percentage. Libero Lily Harman was named Honorable Mention. She averaged 2.9 digs per set before her season was cut short with an injury.
